EAST BEND - A veteran Forbush squad dispatched of the youthful Lady Rams in six innings, cruising to a dominating 15-0 victory in East Bend.

Surry Community College signee Shey Steelman kept Starmount off balanced in the circle, allowing just three hits, while punching out nine to pick up the win.

Freshman Olivia Greene pitched three solid innings for the Lady Rams, only allowing three runs until Forbush exploded in the fourth. The Falcons crossed the plate 12 times in the frame to mercy rule their cross-county rivals.

Starmount put two runners on in the top of the fourth against Steelman as Rachel Wagoner and Madeline Nixon recorded two of the teams’ three hits on the night. But Alli St. John’s drive to deep left was caught on the warning track before Steelman got out of the jam with one of her nine Ks.

The Rams return to the field Thursday night looking to bounce back against Alleghany at home.
