BOONVILLE - Coming off Tuesday’s tough loss to Elkin, Starmount dropped its second-straight game Friday night against Wilkes Central.
The Eagles used a strong first-quarter to knock off the Rams, coasting to the 66-53 victory.
Starmount fell behind 16-8 early and never recovered. The Rams responded but were out-scored 20-16 and 14-10 in the second and third quarters.
Starmount dropped 19 points in the fourth, out-scoring Central 19-15 in the frame, but fell 66-53.
Luke Shore powered the offense with a team-high 10 points - all from the free-throw line. James Ashley added seven points, while Gunner Cass tacked on six as 10 players scored on the night.
The Rams (3-9) hit the floor Tuesday night against Yadkin County rival Forbush in Boonville with four games left on the schedule.
