This Saturday night, rev up the engine of your sharpest hot-rod (or mini-van), put on your high school team's colors and coast along Main Street as “cruisin'” returns to the streets of Elkin.
Cruising Downtown Elkin 2010, sponsored by the Reeves Theater Restoration Project, will take place from 7 – 11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, as families and friends gather to celebrate the weekly Saturday night event which once brought people from all over the Tri-County area to Main Street, Elkin.
Or, for the real '50's fanatics, come early to check out the area's finest machines with four wheels at the Classic Car Show that will precede the night of cruising.
Local downtown restaurants will keep their doors open during the car show and cruise-in, so be sure to fuel up for the ride.
Cruising 2010 decals are required to take place in the day's events. The cost is $10. Pick yours up in advance at Diana's Bookstore, Royall's Soda Shoppe or Speedy Chef in Elkin and save $3. All proceeds go to the Reeves Theater Restoration Fund.
