WINSTON-SALEM - The Triad Scorpions continued their hot streak last weekend in Winston-Salem.


The Scorpions won their second straight tournament Saturday at the United States War on the Courts.


Competing in the 12U boys division, the Scorpions breezed to three dominating wins, all coming by more than 12 points.


Triad opened the tournament by topping the Salisbury Phenoms 52-40 before cruising past the Raleigh CIC Warriors 47-31. The Scorpions saved their best performance for last, routing the Danville (Va.) Hoop Dreams 59-17 to capture the title.


The Scorpions, comprised of Yadkin and Wilkes County residents, are coached by Chris Pardue, Jairo Hernandez, Jody Christopherson and Dan Christopherson.


Team memebers include: Tony Douglas, Lance Kennedy, Sinjun Southard, Peyton Johnson, Hunter Christopherson, Brandon Hernandez, James Allred and Ridge Wilcox.
