Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday afternoon apprehended and arrested a North Wilkesboro man who has been charged with murdering a woman and a boy.
Jason Ryan Pardue, 33, of 2642 Statesville Road, North Wilkesboro, has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of 1st degree sex offense with a minor under 13, and one count of incest. He was taken into custody at about 2 p.m.
The bodies of a woman and a boy were found in a North Wilkesboro home on Friday morning.
The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office began to receive reports on Thursday of two missing persons: Kelly Marie Pruitt, 33; and her son, Kevin Michael Hurley, 8.
Neither one of them had been seen since or about March 8, 2013, according to a sheriff’s office release.
During the investigation into the missing persons cases, the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation served a search warrant at the victim’s residence located at 2642 Statesville Road, North Wilkesboro, in the early morning on Friday.
During the search, the deceased bodies of Kelly Pruitt and her son Kevin Hurley were located, according to the release. Pruitt’s apparent cause of death was the result of multiple stab wounds, the release said. Evidence located at the scene suggests Kevin Hurley’s death was the result of suffocation. An exact cause of death will be determined by autopsy, the release said.
