Jonesville woman charged with drug possession, forgery, fraud

A Jonesville woman was charged March 8 with simple possession, escape from custody or resist arrest, warrant for arrest, forgery - using/uttering, and fraud - obtaining money/property by false pretense.

Holly Myers Spicer, 58, of 223 Cedarbrook Road of Jonesville, was transported and held in the Yadkin County Jail on a $8,000 bond following her March 8 arrest. Her trial date is set for Mar. 27.

The drugs in her possession at the time of arrest were four tablets of Xanax and one tablet of oxycodone hydrochloride, both controlled substances under the North Carlina Controlled Substances Act, according to an incident report.

She was also charged with one count of misdemeanor escape from custody or resist arrest. The arrest narrative of Officer Pruitt stated: “Subject refused to cooperate at time of arrest for finger prints to be taken.”

Pruitt said the accused was arrested on account of outstanding warrants. A Magistrate’s Order from Yadkin County stated Spicer “did resist, delay and obstruct” by “refusing to follow verbal commands while she was being combative and destructive inside the police department where she was under arrest for outstanding felony charges.”

Spicer was charged with three counts of felony warrant for arrest. The warrant was originally issued in Surry County on Feb. 14, 2013.

She was charged with two counts of felony forgery - using/uttering, issued Feb. 22, 2013. Warrants were issued for her arrest concerning counterfeit bills used by her at Subway and Walmart, according to the public documents.

She is also charged with three counts of felony Fraud - Obtaining Money/ Property by False Pretense, issued Feb. 22, 2013. She was charged with using counterfeit bills at the Dollar General Store and at Wilco/Hess.

A separate warrant for her arrest listed the offense as “I POSS 5+ COUNTERFEIT INSTRUMENT.”

The warrant stated that she possessed and transported eight counterfeit instruments without authority and with the intent to injure and defraud.

The instruments listed were three $10 U.S. bills and $5 U.S. bills.
