Two additional men now face charges in connection to the murder of Jonesville Police Sergeant, Gregory Keith Martin and a man already in custody for the crime is facing new charges.

The new developments in this case are the result of a joint investigation by the Jonesville Police Department, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Elkin Police Department and other law enforcement agencies.

Scott Vincent Sica, 37, was arrested in Cape Coral, Fla. on Oct. 3, 2012 and charged with first degree murder. Today a grand jury in Yadkin County indicted Sica for additional charges of attempted armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and two counts of possession of stolen goods relating to vehicle thefts.

Two associates of Sica’s now face charges as well.

The same grand jury indicted Brian Eugene Whittaker, 37, of Cape Coral, FL , on charges of first degree murder, attempted armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and two counts of possession of stolen goods.

Marc Peterson Oldroyd, 40, of Rockwood, TN, was also indicted for first degree murder, attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Oldroyd appeared in court on Jan. 28 for his first appearance during which the judge ruled that Oldroyd be held without bond due to the murder charges.

Whittaker and Oldroyd are currently in custody in Yadkin County.

No additional information has been released at this time.

Sergeant Gregory Keith Martin was shot and killed on Oct. 5, 1996 at approximately 2:42 a.m., while conducting a traffic stop on I-77 South in Yadkin County.
