Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Yarboro, Sr. of Elkin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 22, 2012. They were married in Chester, SC by Judge Hattie Y. Harden, on December 22, 1962.
The couple was honored at a reception given by their children and their families on Dec 22, 2012 at the Elkin Rescue Squad. Guests were served 50th anniversary cake, finger foods and punch.
Mr. Yarboro is the son of the late Ossie and Roxie Yarboro of Elkin. Mrs. Yarboro is the daughter of the late Thomas and Eartie Sidden of State Road. He is a minister and retired pastor. She is retired from East Wilkes High School Cafeteria.
The couple has four children, Jerry Yarboro, Jr. and Robin of State Road, Tabitha McCann and Jimmy of Elkin, Terry Yarboro and Clarissa of Hamptonville, and Amanda Stewart and Chris of Yadkinville. The couple also has nine grandchildren.
