An Elkin woman was arrested after allegedly biting off more than she could chew from her fiance, according to an Elkin Police report.

The incident happened on December 9, say Elkin police.

According to the police report, Elkin officers responded to 210 Church St. to investigate a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, police spoke with Michele Bumgarner, 22, who indicated that she and her fiance, Brandon Mark Bromley, had been in a fight.

The arrest narrative states Bumgarner became upset after Bromley allegedly smacked the couple’s dog in the nose.

Per the report, Bumgarner told police that she “blacked out and went crazy.”

Bumgarner said she shoved Bromley onto the ground and sat on his chest, according to the report. While Bromley was trying to push her off, Bumgarner bit Bromley, according to the report.

Police indicated that they had observed several bite marks on Bromley’s arm and hand, according to the report.

Bromley didn’t want to press charges, but police did due to the domestic violence laws of the state, the report said.

The chomping incident led to an arrest for simple assault, according to the report.

The Tribune tried to contact Bumgarner, but the attempts were not successful.
