Ralph Triplette Jr., 75, of Sylva, passed away Monday December 10, 2012.
He was born in Elkin, NC on October 28, 1937 to the late Ralph and Constence Wright Triplette Sr. He graduated from Elkin public schools and he received a college degree from Davidson College and the University of Kentucky and University of North Carolina.
He was employed as a city planner in Hartford, Conn. From 1962-1966.and in Chapel Hill from 1966-1967. He became a professor of Geography and planning at Western Carolina University from 1970 until retirement in 2003.
He is survived by his wife and love of 41 years Mary S. Triplette, one sister Constance T. Barker of Statesville and one brother Walter Triplette of Elkin.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday December 17, 2012 at Appalachian Funeral Services.
No formal services are planned.
