The Friends of the Dobson Community Library has been awarded a $1,500 grant by the Elkin Advisory Committee of The Winston-Salem Foundation.
The grant will be used to purchase audio books and DVDs for the Dobson Community Library, a member of the Northwestern Regional Library. This grant is made from funds provided by the Elkin Community Trust and the Richard T. Chatham Fund.
Friend’s President Renee Moore stated that the funds would benefit many library users: families looking for inexpensive entertainment in these difficult economic times; customers with sight disabilities; and patrons with long commutes.
The Dobson Community Library is located in downtown Dobson. The library’s mission is to serve all patrons, regardless of abilities and national origin.
