Walter Weaver Welborn, age 68 of Ronda passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Welborn was born in Surry County on April 7, 1944 to the late Garl Wesley Welborn Sr. and Bertha Gray Welborn.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Irene Johnson Welborn; brother, Garl Wesley Welborn Jr.; sister, Bertha Juanita Gray.

Mr. Welborn is survived by his son, Jeremiah Wade Welborn & wife Donna of North Wilkesboro; brothers, James “Bo” Welborn & wife Annie of Ronda, Johnny Welborn & wife Cindy of Ronda; sisters, Mary “Frankie” Kennedy of Ronda, Brenda Welborn Blackburn of Elkin, Janice Welborn Scercy & husband Kenneth of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Jeremiah Wade Welborn Jr., James Mark Welborn, Hannah-Mae Madison Welborn, Joshua Weaver Welborn; great-grandchild, Ian Colt Welborn; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Dennyville Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Byrd and Rev. William Southard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 6:00 -8:00p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
