After taking over Elkin Creek Vineyard in April, the Jeroslows and Whites have opened cabins at the vineyard.

“The idea for the cabins started with the original owner Mark Greene,” Louis Jeroslow said. “We came with the push to take things to the next phase.”

Nick and Jennifer White and Louis and Carrie Jeroslow each was involved with the Blue Man Group theater company. The Whites were married at Elkin Creek in 2008 and fell in love with the area.

“When Mark was deciding to sell the place, he really handpicked us to take over,” Jeroslow said. “That was really an honor that he chose us to carry on the vineyard and knew we would give it love and respect. We have encouraged him to stay involved and come back and visit the vineyard.”

The cabins have a kitchen, living room area and bedroom area, making it almost a home away from home for visitors.

“The idea is for people to have a home away from home for people to stay as they come and explore the region,” Jeroslow said.

The new cabins are just part of a phase that the Whites and Jeroslows are planning for Elkin Creek. The new owners plan to develop the walking path and do further landscaping. They also plan to develop the grist mill into a museum.

“Elkin is a really wonderful place,” Jeroslow said. “The community and neighbors have been proof positive that we made the right choice coming here.”
