The Tribune’s Cutest Pets contest has a new winner.

With 1,566 votes, ‘Sweet Lil Swisher,’ a two-year-old Shih Tzu, named after the Yankees player Nick Swisher, is the winner.

Owner Brittany Martin Smith said she entered the dog after consulting with family and co-workers who all agreed he was winner-worthy.

“I’m sure I’ll probably spend the $250 check to spoil him even more,” Smith said. “He’s spoiled rotten!”

In close second place, with 1,351 votes was West Highland White Terrier Lilli “Clowning Around.”

The pet coming in third place was a cat named “Gracey,” with 392 votes, owned by Amy Sanders.
