Norma M. Howard, 86, of Winston-Salem passed away Sept. 27, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon T. Howard; her parents James E. and Maude Burcham McCann; her sisters R.V. McCann Johnson, Earlene McCann, Doris McCann Tharpe, Clara McCann Huffman; and her brothers Henry Clay McCann, Byron McCann, Frederick McCann, and J.L. McCann.
Her immediate survivors are her son Gurney T. Howard and wife Robin; grandsons Nathan Howard and Daniel Howard and wife Melissa; brothers Tommy McCann and wife Nora, Bill McCann and wife Bonnie; sister Betty M. Tharpe and husband Felix; brother-in-law Ken Huffman; sisters-in-law Atrice McCann and Epsie McCann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of College Park Baptist Church, and she enjoyed being with her family, her cooking, and her gardening.
Friends may visit at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to College Park Baptist Church, 1701 Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
