Mr. Allen Andrew Blom, 80, of Traphill died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at his home.

A graveside service, with military honors by Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard was held 12:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, at Shoaly Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Cline officiating.

Mr. Blom was born in Calumet, MI, on Dec. 26, 1931, to Andrew Oscar and Lempi Lydia Rudberg Blom. He retired from the Detroit Police Department as a Det. Sgt. after 22 years of service. Mr. Blom served in US Navy.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Leota Maxine Carter Blom, Mr. Blom was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth LeVerne Blom Perry.

Mr. Blom is survived by two daughters, Judy Kincer and husband, Tony of Wytheville, VA and Karen Lentz of Charlotte; two sons, Mark Blom of Montgomery, TX and Robert Blom and wife, Dee of Stevensville, MD; one sister, Martha Hill and husband, Peter of Wisconsin; one brother, Donald Blom of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Frank & Brandon Lentz of Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 451 Winston Road, Jonesville, NC 28642 or Shoaly Branch Baptist Church, 472 Shoaly Branch Church Road, Elkin, NC 28621.
