Plums has caught Elk Fever.
With Elkin’s first football game Friday, Plums has yet again stocked the store with Buckin’ Elk football fan gear.
Since 2003, Plums owner Nan Transou has carried Elkin football T-shirts, with all proceeds going toward funding the football team’s pre-game meals.
“Richard Grissom contacted me back in 2003 and asked if I’d be interested in carrying some Elkin football T-shirts, since there really wasn’t another place for people to buy them,” Transou said. “The football program pays for the T-shirts and I give them the money when the shirts sell. They use that money to go toward the meals that the team eats together before every game.”
Plums now has several styles and sizes in stock, all priced at $14.
To purchase a T-shirt, stop by Plums’ location on Main Street in Elkin. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
