Mrs. Stella Wyatt Pilkenton, 86, of Millers Creek, widow of McConley Pilkenton died Monday, August 13, 2012 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00, Friday, August 17, at White Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Vannoy and the Rev. Drew Pilkenton officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday night.

Mrs. Pilkenton was born in Wilkes County, on July 4, 1926, to Edgar and Lydia Spears Wyatt. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. Mrs. Pilkenton was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pilkenton was preceded in death by a son, Roy Odell Pilkenton; one sister, Lillie Faye Wyatt Griffin; four brothers, Ronzie Wyatt, Hansford Wyatt, Ford Wyatt, Robert Wyatt.

Mrs. Pilkenton is survived by four daughters Melba Church Blevins and husband, Porter of Sparta, Marcella Vannoy and husband, Bill, Lola Mathis and husband, Bobby, Shelby Lunsford and husband, Jerry all of Millers Creek; three sons, Kenneth Pilkenton of Millers Creek, Roger Pilkenton and wife, Vicky of Wilkesboro, Bill Pilkenton of Millers Creek; two brothers, George Wyatt of Millers Creek and Willard Wyatt of Statesville; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wilkes, 1908 West Park Drive, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or to White Oak Baptist Church, PO Box 457, Millers Creek, NC 28651.
