Jonesville Town Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
The purpose of this hearing is to receive citizen input regarding the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
CDBG funds may be used for:
1) NC Catalyst Projects which could include Housing Activities, Homeownership, Public Facilities or Other Non-Housing Activitie,
2) Infrastructure Improvement Projects which could include water and/or sewer improvements,
3) Talent Enhancement Capacity Building Projects which could assist a non profit agency with developing capacity to undertake an eligible CDBG Program, or
4) Economic Development Projects including the Small Business and Entrepreneurial Assistance Program, which could provide assistance to new or expanding businesses. All CDBG Programs are designed to benefit low and moderate-income residents within the Town. All interested persons are invited to attend this hearing.
