Drivers turned cautiously onto Johnson Ridge Road off CC Camp Road Tuesday morning to avoid a car wreck that occurred at 9:30 a.m.
A 1997 Toyota Corolla traveling south on Johnson Ridge Road t-boned a 2011 Chevy Equinox traveling east on CC Camp Road, said Capt. Chris Leonard of the Elkin Police Department.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla ran the red light and hit the Chevy in the intersection of CC Camp and Johnson Ridge, Leonard said.
Both drivers were taken to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for evaluation, he said.
Elkin Police Department and Elkin Fire Department responded to the accident.
