Mrs. Doris Marie Collins Hall, 83, of Elkin, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center.

She was born in Surry County on December 30, 1928, to the late Eck and Lennie Key Collins.

Mrs. Hall was a retired telephone operator from Sprint Telephone Company and a member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Rex Hall of State Road; a grandson, Justin Chad and wife Lisa Hall of Dobson; a great-grandson, Cody Edwin Hall of Dobson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Chris Hall; a son, Gary Lynn Hall; four sisters, Edith Collins, Clyde Holder, Lillian Mendenhall and Gladys McMickle; and one brother, DeWitt Collins.

Funeral services will be held at12 pm- on Friday, July 13, 2012, at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Stone with burial to follow in the Mulberry Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11 until time of the service.
