• 1:30-6:00 p.m. – The William J. Jones Post 7794 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Elkin is sponsoring a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, January 16. The hours of the blood drive are 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm at the Elkin Rescue Squad Building, 946 North Bridge Street. All types of blood are urgently needed, especially O negative. • 7:00-10:00 p.m. – The Wilmington Wine and Chocolate Festival, a sweet affair in North Carolina’s premier costal city, will be taking place on Feb 3-5, 1012 (4th 11:am – 6:pm, 5th (noon – 6:00) at the Best Western Coastline Event Center. All proceeds will be distributed to the Volunteer Older Citizens anction League. There are over 60 wine/chocolate and food venders as well as artisans and boutique vendors.
