The teams battled for control of the scoreboard for most of the game.
Kelli Bonner and Kennedy Gambill each added 19 points for their respective teams.
Although fans expected an offensive show from Gambill and Bonner, both teams had other players step up as well.
For Starmount, Amber Wooten and Courtney Barnes both reached double digits, with Wooten knocking down 18 points, while Barnes added 10.
For the Lady Trojans, Megan Lyons added 10 points, Mika Sprinkle hit 15, and Laken Blevins knocked down 12.
Although the Trojans were able to edge out the win against the Rams, they were defeated on Wednesday night in the second round by the Ashe County Huskies, 59-41.
Despite an early exit from the MVAC tournament, the Lady Rams will suit up at least one more time in the opening round of the state playoffs on Monday.
