Lois Jordan Cleary Caudle
Mrs. Lois Jordan Cleary Caudle, 83, formerly of Mocksville, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.
She was born July 7, 1925 in Davie County to the late William Raleigh and Ida Kathryn Stewart Jordan.
Mrs. Caudle worked in the textile industry and was a homemaker.
She loved her flower garden and enjoyed watching them grow from seed into beautiful colors of the rainbow. Her vegetable garden was always tops in the neighborhood and she shared the plentiful crop with her friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Martin Cleary in 1984; a daughter, Jo Ann Cleary Walker; and a son, Donald Lee Cleary.
Survivors include her husband, Alvis R. Caudle of the home in Hamptonville; a daughter, Ruby Cleary Bailey (Jimmy) of Mocksville; a son, Charlie M. Cleary (Pat) of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Michael Correll, Scott Correll, Randy Walker (Heather), and Becky Wiles; (Dan); five great-grandchildren, Jason Correll, Justin Correll, Savannah Walker, Brayden Walker and Graham Wiles. She is also survived by a brother, Clyde Jordan (Gail) of Mocksville; and six sisters, Ladene Gaddy of Matthews, Elsie Simpson, Ethel Jones (Paul), Lorene Phillips (Francis), Doris Williams (Gurney) and Ruth Brannock (Bob) all of Mocksville; five stepdaughters, Diane Tetrick (Oliver) of Elkin, Judy Poloatlo (Serafin) of Hamptonville, Joyce Hathcock (Roger) of New London, Janet Sizemore (Donald) of Mt. Airy and Rhonda Medley (Lester) of Thurmond; six step-grandchildren, Sara Burchette, Brent Hathcock, Nathan Paloalto, Noah Paloalto, Davey Sizemore and Kristy Sizemore.
Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19 at Eaton Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Liberty Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the funeral home.
