Rosa Lee Bauguess
Rosa Lee Bauguess, age 66, of 157 Russell Pardue Road, State Road, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Rosa was born in Wilkes County on May 25, 1942 to the late Carl and Claire Norman Luffman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William David Bauguess, and a brother, Everett Luffman. She is survived by four children; Mickey Bauguess, Tommy (Tara) Bauguess, David Bauguess all of the home, Jan (Butch) Hall of Elkin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Ruthie Mitchell, Carl Hall, Hope Hall, William Hall, Dalton Bauguess, Cody Bauguess, and Chase Bauguess, two sisters; Gladys Luffman Owens Thompson and husband Leslie of State Road, Rachel Nelson of State Road, and Brothers; Kelly Luffman, Harvey Luffman, Frank Luffman, Wayne Luffman all of State Road, and Dennis Luffman, of Charlotte and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Friday, 2 p.m., Oct. 17, 2008, at State Road Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Kenny Wood, and the Rev. Danny Royall. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The Bauguess Family received friends Thursday evening from 7-9 at Johnson Funeral Home. Robert Edward Davis Sr.
Robert Edward Davis Sr., age 83 of 950 Austin Traphill Road, Elkin, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at Wilkes Regional Hospital. We lost part of our family. A man who we called Pa Robert. He touched our lives with great love and kindness. He will forever be in our hearts and we thank God for the time we shared with him. Mr. Davis was born in Alexander County on Aug. 26, 1925 to the late Hayden Bertha Chapman Davis. He was retired from Wayne Farms. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Mook Davis, and a brother, Rolland Davis. He is survived by three children; Bobby Davis Jr. and wife Laura of Yadkinville, Yolanda Cameron of Phillidafa and Gilda Hovick of Benton, Mich. Mr. Davis is also survived by two step-children; Jimmy Mook and wife Karen of Elkin, and Danny Mook and wife Tammy of Jonesville, a special granddaughter, Megan Gage and husband Jason, Michaela Mook, Brandon Mook, Cass Davis and wife April, and Chad Davis. His great-great-grandchildren are Kayden and Tyler Gage, Tristen and Brayden Davis, and several nieces and nephews and two sisters; Mary Lyons, and Mabel Eldridge. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Johnson Funeral Home is serving the Davis Family. Amy Lala Stoker
Amy Lala Stoker, age 87, of East Walker Road, Elkin passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Surry County on March 9,1921 to the late William and Mary Harris Franklin. She was a member of Central Full Gospel Church in State Road. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Stoker, two brothers, Glen and Don Franklin and two sisters Ora Adams and Dovie Holbrook. She is survived by one son; James Willie Stoker and wife Darelene, of the home, two granddaughters, Sonya Broom and husband Jamie of Indian Land, S.C., Michelle Smithey and husband, Jason of Elkin, three great-grandchildren; Kayla Lawrence, Dylan Brooks, and Jacob Broom. She is also survived by a sister Sadie Ganzzermiller of Baltimore, Md. Funeral service was held Thursday, 2 p.m., Oct. 16, 2008 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bobby Norman. Interment followed at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Johnson Funeral Home of Elkin served the Stoker Family.
