The 2015 Blue Ridge Basketball School is planned for June 15-18 at East Wilkes High School for girls and boys in rising third through ninth grades. The school is directed by Brad Davis with four full days of basketball instruction, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuition for the program is $100 for registration before the first day of camp. Tuition includes a camp T-shirt. A family discount of $10 for each additional child in the immediate family is available.

Campers will need to provide their own bag lunch, and drinks will be sold at camp.

The cheer staff at North Wilkes High School will be holding a Youth Cheer Camp for rising third- through eighth-graders June 22-24 from 8 a.m. to noon. The camp will be held at North Wilkes High School.

The tuition for the camp is $50 per camper. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and a cheer bow.

Coach Aaron Simmons, along with current and former East Wilkes players, will be holding tennis clinics for rising Kindergarten through high school students beginning June 23 through July 30.

Clinics for rising kindergarten students through rising third-graders will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clinics for rising fourth-graders through rising eighth-graders will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Finally, clinics for rising ninth-graders through rising 12th-graders will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The cost of each clinic is $5 and no advanced registration is needed. Contact Aaron Simmons at 336-927-7391 for any questions.

Starmount High School will host a softball camp for rising third- through ninth-graders at Starmount High School on June 22-24 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $30. Skills focused on include fundamentals of fielding, catching,throwing, hitting mechanics, baserunning, pitching, field positions, and game situations. Players interested can register the day of camp. The Lees-McRae’s basketball coaches are coming to Starmount High School to host a Satellite Prospect Camp geared towards finding local talent. The camp is June 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Starmount High School. For rising seventh- through 12th-graders boys only, the cost is $40 and includes a LMC Basketball Camp T-shirt. Starmount High School sports physicals will be June 17 at 8 a.m. at Jonesville Family Medical Center. The cost is $10 and a signed NCHSAA physical form should be taken with you to the physicals — one can be obtained in the office at the high school or form www.NCHSAA.org.

Starmount Football will be hosting its annual K-6 football camp on July 27 and July 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the practice field. Park in front of the school. The cost is $10 and door prizes will be given.

Starmount football will be hosting its annual Youth Football Coaches Clinic on July 26 at 6 p.m. in the library. It is free for all Starmount Feeder School Youth Coaches.
