Locals win features at Friendship Motor Speedway


Bryan Nance of Ronda won the Limited Sportsman Feature Saturday night at Friendship Motor Speedway. He sits tied for fourth in the driver standings.

In the weekly Saturday night series at Friendship Motor Speedway, two locals stood out on the track

Bryan Nance of Ronda dominated in both the heat race for the Limited Sportsman series, then went on to hold off a hard charging Jay Foley for the feature win.

Nance is in his 29th year of racing, and his experience helped, especially on the restarts. Nance’s win came on a cloudy overcast night, but the rain held off.

Another local grabbing a win was George Anen of Elkin in the Renegade series.

Other winners included Richard Clew in the Open Wheel Modified, Stephanie Caudle in the UCAR series, Chris Cheek in the SECA Late Models, and Randy Powell in the XS4.

The series continues Saturday at Friendship Motor Speedway. Gates open at 3 p.m., with drivers meeting starting at 6:15 p.m.
