BOONVILLE — The Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America is a career and technical student organization which provides personal growth, leadership development and career preparation for students in the Family and Consumer Sciences educational field. This is the 70th year of the national club, FCCLA. The club has members from across the nation, including Starmount High School.

The Rams chapter of FCCLA allows students opportunities to experience life outside of home and school. Students rise to their best as well as strive for more. This is the only club which has the concept of family as part of its curriculum. The organization helps make the community a better place for everyone by helping out with local projects and events such as the Austin Macemore Fun-Run and Friends Feeding Friends.

The Starmount High School FCCLA, which is led by Marty Stewart, has lots planned, including a trip in July to the National Leadership Conference in San Diego, California. The conference will host events such as Recycle and Redesign, Sport and Nutrition, Culinary Arts, and Early Childhood, to name a few. For students who want to make a difference and prepare for future careers, this is a great organization in which to join and participate.
