Elkin tennis falls in third round

Ryan Macy and Jarrett Peterson made it to the semifinals of the NCHSAA Individual tournament.

Elkin tennis ended its season on Monday afternoon with a 5-3 loss to Pine Lake Prep in the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Dual Team Tournament. The Buckin’ Elks had a great season as it took a share of the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference title along with East Wilkes.

2. David Chrossin PLP def Jarrett Peterson E, 6-1, 6-1

3. Alex Wrench PLP def Isaac Powell, E 6-3, 6-2

Elkin’s Ryan Macy and Jarrett Peterson competed in the NCHSAA Individual Tennis Tournament last weekend in Raleigh. Macy and Peterson made it to the semifinals where they battled the Community School of Davidson’s doubles team. The match went to three sets with Macy and Peterson falling 6-3 in the final set.

First Round: Ryan Macy and Jarrett Peterson (Elkin) def. Octavio Palacios and Marco Borja (East Columbus) 6-0, 6-0

Semifinals: Jacob Wenzel and Oliver Picot (Community School of Davidson) def. #1 Ryan Macy and Jarrett Peterson (Elkin) 2-6, 6-4, 6-3
