Elkin tennis keeps undefeated season alive

The Buckin’ Elks men’s tennis team moved its overall record to 2-0 as the Elks beat West Wilkes 8-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Elks started things off with a clean sweep in the single sets before losing one doubles set 9-8 (5).

Ryan Macy and Jarrett Peterson continued to dominate on the court in both singles and doubles. Macy beat his competition 6-4 and 6-1, while Peterson won 6-2 and 6-0. In doubles, Macy and Peterson won their match 8-0 over Landon Church and Own Miller. Jacob Bellia and Izzi Gonzales earned a doubles win over West Wilkes with an 8-4 win.

Elkin’s next match is March 14 at home against Ashe County. The match is set to start at 4 p.m.
