On a chilly Wednesday night, the Lady Elks soccer team took on the Mount Airy Bears in Elkin. The first half started off in a back-and-forth action as the Elks and the Bears battled for every possession.

Elkin was able to strike first as Kathryn Jennings beat two defenders to find the back of the net. The lead didn’t last long as Mount Airy tied the game a few minutes later. Before the first half was up, Jennings scored another goal for the Elks to take the score to 2-1.

Mount Airy was able to score another goal to tie the game up, 2-2. As time was winding down in the second half, Jennings found the back of the net off of a throw-in by Laken Brown. Jennings earned a hat-trick and gave a Elks 3-2 victory for its second win of the season.

Elkin moves to 2-2 overall, its next game is Friday night at home against South Stokes.
