Safe Kids golf tournament

ELKIN — Safe Kids of Surry and Wilkes County will hold their inaugural benefit golf tournament on Oct. 27 at Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin. The tournament is a shotgun start at 1 p.m. There will be a hole-in-one contest, a longest drive contest, complementary range balls, and free drinks. Registration opens at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. Teams are four-person captain’s choice, and the cost is $65 a person. Ram Jam basketball camp

BOONVILLE — Starmount High School basketball coach, Rocky Horton, will be holding the 2016 Ram Jam Basketball Camp on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. till noon. Boys and girls of all ages are invited to attend. The cost of the camp is $30, and five can food donations will take $5 off the cost of the camp. Anyone who plans to attend if they will email Rocky Horton in advance at [email protected] so the camp can schedule accordingly. The camp is sponsored by Carl Rose and Sons Ready Mix Concrete.

Forbush Rec Council basketball tournament

EAST BEND — Forbush Recreation Council will hold a basketball tournament at Forbush Middle and Forbush Elementary schools, Nov. 19 through Nov. 26. Boys and girls in grades third through eighth are welcome to attend, as well as travel and recreation teams. There is a $100 entry fee, concessions will be available at both locations during the tournament. For more information, contact Justin Shore at 336-469-1879.
