Shrine Club golf tournament

BOONVILLE — The Elkin-Jonesville Shrine Club will hold its annual golf tournament at Silo Run Golf Club in Boonville on Sept. 30. Tee time is set for 1 p.m. The tournament will be a four-player captain’s choice format. Entry fee is $240 per team ($60 per player), with cash prizes for the winning teams plus closest to pin and most accurate drive prizes. Lunch will be served for players from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Entry deadline is Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. For more information or to register, contact John Day, tournament chair, at 828-477-4031.

Safe Kids golf tournament

Safe Kids of Surry and Wilkes County will hold their inaugural benefit golf tournament on Oct. 27 at Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin. The tournament is a shotgun start at 1 p.m. There will be a hole-in-one contest, a longest drive contest, complementary range balls, and free drinks. Registration opens at 11 a.m., with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. Teams are four-person captain’s choice, and the cost is $65 a person.
