East Wilkes tennis schedule released

Last season Brooke Schubert helped lead the Cardinals to second place in the MVAC. This season the Cardinals are looking to replace Schubert and several other seniors who graduated in 2016.

RONDA — East Wilkes Cardinals have released their women’s tennis schedule for the upcoming 2016 season. Last season the Cardinals held an overall record of 14-6, and made it to the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs before falling 5-1 to Bishop McGuinness.

In the MVAC, East Wilkes came away with a conference record of 12-2, and placed second overall. The Cardinals open their season on August 15 with an away game against Mount Airy.

Below is the full schedule, with home games bolded.

August 16: North Surry at East Wilkes

August 18: East Wilkes @ North Stokes

August 23: Ashe County at East Wilkes

August 25: East Wilkes @ Elkin

August 29: Bishop McGuinness at East Wilkes

August 30: Starmount at East Wilkes

September 1: Wilkes Central at East Wilkes

September 6: East Wilkes @ Alleghany

September 8: East Wilkes @ North Wilkes

September 12: Mount Airy at East Wilkes

September 13: West Wilkes at East Wilkes

September 15: East Wilkes @ Ashe County

September 20: Elkin at East Wilkes

September 22: East Wilkes @ Starmount

September 27: East Wilkes @ Wilkes Central

September 29: Alleghany at East Wilkes

October 4: North Wilkes at East Wilkes

October 6: East Wilkes @ West Wilkes

October 11: Conference Tournament @ Elkin

October 20-22: NCHSAA Individual Regionals

October 28-29: NCHSAA Individual State

October 18, 25, 31, November 2, 5: NCHSAA Dual Team Playoffs
