Elkin swimmer medals at State Games


Elkin High School athlete Alex Duncan competed in the swimming portion of the State Games of North Carolina in Raleigh last week. Duncan competed in the 200 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 100 Backstroke, 50 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Freestyle, and 200 Individual Medley. Duncan earned gold medals in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Individual Medley. He also earned four Silver Medals in his remaining five events. The state games swimming events occur in a long course or 50 meter pool. Alex Duncan, a rising junior, competes with the Elkin High School swim team during the winter sports season. He competes year-round with the Piedmont Aquatics Club, and as a member of the Elkin Wet Lightning summer league.
