Starmount softball to host benefit game

Staff Report

BOONVILLE — On Tuesday, the Starmount softball team will host a benefit game for Hope Nixon.

Nixon was diagnosed with AML leukemia in November of 2015. She is a hard working lady, a mother of four, a nurse, a youth leader, and friend to many. She has undergone four rounds of chemo and she received a bone marrow transplant on March 10.

This is also a very special game as it is also senior night, and Nixon’s oldest daughter is the catcher.

T-shirts will be on sale for $15, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Nixon family. Presentations start at 5:30 p.m. with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
