Starmount girls win meet, boys place second

Logan Styers won the 200M for Starmount during the conference track meet last week. Styers helped lead the team to second place overall.

BOONVILLE — The Starmount girls track team took home a conference victory last Thursday with an overall score of 82, while the boys took home second place with a score of 67.

On the girls side, Jennifer Johnson won three events: The 100M, triple jump and long jump. Hannah Shell won high jump and the girls 4x100M and 4x200M won.

On the boys side, Brandon Prescott also won three events: 100M, triple jump and long jump. Trey Lomax won 110M hurdles and Logan Styers won the 200M. The boys 4x100M (Logan Styers, Brandon Prescott, Brendan Eads and Trey Lomax) also won, and have a very impressive relay team. Jack McCormick also won the 400M.

Overall results are as follows:

Girls — Starmount 82, North Wilkes 78, West Wilkes 43, and Elkin 23

Boys — West Wilkes 88, Starmount 67, Elkin 63 and North Wilkes 42
