Elkin 0 – Ashe County 4
The Elkin Buckin’ Elks baseball team has been on a roll the past few weeks when facing its conference opponents. Tuesday night was a different story for the Elks as they fell 4-0 to Ashe County.
The Huskies got things going in the first inning as they scored two runs to make the score 2-0. They added two more runs in the top of the second to give them the 4-0 lead. From there the game went on for five more innings, but neither team was able to score.
The Elks were only able to get six players on base all night. The closest the Elks came to scoring was in the bottom of the third inning as Jackson Carter made his way to second off of a bunt by Hayden Brooks.
Unfortunately for the Elks, they couldn’t make it past second base and they fell 4-0 after seven innings.
Elkin 5 – Alleghany 1
The Elkin baseball team bounced back from its loss on Tuesday night, with a 5-1 win over Alleghany on Wednesday.

Will Altemueller pitched all seven innings for the Elks giving up one hit, one run, and two walks. He struck out 10 batters for the night.
