JONESVILLE — An Easter egg hunt was held on Saturday afternoon at the Arlington First Baptist Church.Youth Pastor Marty Nixon gathered youth at noon for a story time presentation. After the stories concluded, children and families lined up for a hot dog lunch.“Today we went over the gospel. Jesus is the reason we are celebrating Easter. He is the reason we can come out and why we give praise,” said Nixon.“The children have their own baskets. We have prizes for the girls and boys that have the most eggs, and the overall winner. Nobody goes home empty handed here at the church,” continued Nixon.


Cross-denominational service draws Good Friday crowd

NCDOT to begin pavement rehabilitation project on I-77 in Surry County
