Five charged with drug trafficking

HAMPTONVILLE — Five suspects were charged on March 31 with a variety of drug-related offenses, according to information provided by the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.The suspects allegedly were transporting quantities of cocaine, marijuana and prescription medications into Yadkin County from New Jersey.The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office executed a vehicle stop at the intersection of Windsor Road and U.S. 421 northbound. During a search of the vehicle, the officers discovered a large quantity of crack cocaine and other drugs.
