Casstevens to serve another term on Sewer Authority
Jonesville’s Town Council reappointed Tommy Casstevens to the Board of Directors of the Yadkin Valley Sewer Authority Monday during its monthly meeting. The Yadkin Valley Sewer Authority requested the Council appoint someone by May 1 to replace Casstevens, as his term was set to expire at the end of June. Mayor Pro-Tem Gene Pardue said, “Mr. Casstevens has served well and may be reappointed if that is the decision of the Town Council.” ...

Marena Nelson, a junior and cheerleader at Elkin High School, was invited March 27 to attend a cheerleading invitational in Hawaii. The CheerHawaii USA Invitational 2013 will be held from June 25 to July 2 on the island of O’ahu at the University of Hawaii’s campus.
