Ronda is looking to crack down on drivers speeding through town. At Tuesday night’s town hall meeting, Ronda Mayor Victor Varela and the Board of Commissioners discussed adding speed bumps or rumble strips in town as part of an overall effort to enforce speed limits in town limits. Lawmaker seeks to muffle ban on silencers for hunting
RALEIGH — Hunting would become a quieter process under a bill introduced in the N.C. General Assembly by the senator who represents Surry County. A section of River Road in Jonesville that has been damaged and eroded by rainwater is slated to be repaired. Jonesville’s board of commissioners voted Monday to go ahead with a planned repair of the road with an estimated $4,500 in cost. Carter and Kirk Paving was tapped to handle the project. Jonesville will allow Urban Archery season
in a 3-2 decision to allow an urban archery season within town limits. The final measure passed Monday evening, with Commissioners Danny Lewis, Gene Pardue, and Andy Green in favor, and Wayne Moore and Tracy Wall opposed.
