Ghouls and goblins will take to the streets of Elkin Wednesday night for annual trick-or-treating.
To celebrate Halloween, the Elkin community and surrounding area have planned several trick-or-treating events and other fun activities in addition to door to door trick-or-treating.
Local events include:
-Haunted Theater at The Reeves Theater in downtown Elkin. Volunteers including Dr. Skip Whitman, Cicely McCulloch and Robin Turner have made the Haunted Reeves an annual event, costing $5, with all proceeds going to the restoration of the Reeves Theater.
-Trick-or-Treat at the Fairfield Inn. The public is welcome to come out to the Fairfield Inn at 628 CC Camp Road/268 Bypass, for lots of candy and optional professional photography. Shutterbug Photography will be taking pictures with packets starting at $25.
-Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will have a Fall Outreach Event at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Gym, 595 Austin Traphill Road, from 6-8 p.m. Hot dogs, candy, fun and games will all be available
-Grassy Creek United Methodist Church will host Trunk-or-Treat at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church starting at 7 p.m.
-Refuge Community Church will also have Trunk-or-Treat for all children at 7 p.m.
-Ebenezer United Methodist Church will be hosting a Truck-or-Treat at the garden center on North Bridge Street above Schewel’s furniture at 5:30 p.m.
