The big day will soon be here for 82 seniors from Elkin High School.
Elkin High School will hold its graduation ceremonies Saturday, May 27 at Grissom Stadium. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.
The event will be moved to Dixon Auditorium if there is inclement weather. Students will be issued seven tickets for guests if held in the auditorium, but there is no limit to the amount of family and friends who may attend if the graduation is outside.
This year’s class has garnered around $400,000 in scholarships with several more pending. Many students are still undergoing scholarship interviews and tests to determine if they win.
Principal Joel Hoyle said this class was very tight-knit as roughly 90 percent of the students have been together since Kindergarten. For many this will be the last time they are all together, making the event even more important to the students and loved ones.
