MORAVIAN FALLS - There will be no playoffs for Wilkes County Post 31 in the upcoming American Legion postseason.
After capping a 6-12 campaign, the Patriots finished in ninth place in the Southern Division, two games out of a playoff berth.
But heading into their season finale against South Rowan, there was talk of two teams using an illegal player, which would cause those teams to forfeit games, giving Wilkes County a playoff spot.
After an investigation, the American Legion will not disqualify Kannapolis or Mooresville, ending Post 31’s slim playoff chances.
