What Surry and Yadkin voters will see on their ballots

Election day has arrived and voters who did not participate in early voting will be lining up at the polls. Below is a list of what Surry County and Yadkin County voters can expect to see when they go to cast their votes:

Presidential Contest

Barack Obama, Joe Biden - Democrat

Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan- Republican

Gary Johnson, James P. Gray - Libertarian

The ballot reminds voters that the offices of President and Vice President of the United States are not included in straight party voting. This contest most be voted separately.

If voting as an Elkin resident, voters will see the same ballot but it will also have Elkin City Schools Board of Education East District:Richard L. Brinegar, Haley M. Sullivan.

Here’s a list of the races that Yadkin County residents can expect to see on their ballots on Nov. 6.

Presidential Race:

Barack Obama and Joe Biden – Democrat

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan – Republican

Gary Johnson and James P. Gray – Libertarian

Voters are reminded that voting a straight ticket will not select a presidential candidate. Voters must select their presidential candidate as this race is voted separately from the straight ticket vote.
