Darcie Dyer joined the Tribune staff Tuesday as a reporter.
Dyer, an Elkin native, graduated from Auburn University in December 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Throughout college, Dyer worked for Auburn’s student newspaper, The Auburn Plainsman. After leaving Auburn, Dyer interned in Atlanta, Ga. at Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles magazine, covering happenings in the city’s interior design world.
Dyer has returned home to continue her career in journalism and is looking forward on reporting in the area. “It will certainly be a change of pace from Atlanta, but one I’m looking forward to. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to report in my hometown,” Dyer said. “It’s going to be both a unique and rewarding experience reporting on a community that is so special to me.”
