James Clark Moore, 83, of Elkin passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Moore was born in Wilkes County on Feb. 28, 1929, to the late John Riley and Texie Parker Moore. Mr. Moore was retired from the Town of Elkin.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Alma Lee Billings Moore; son, William Charles Moore and several siblings.

Mr. Moore is survived by his children, Kathy Wood & husband David of Traphill, Sandra Kay Richardson of Elkin, Ronnie Lee Moore of North Wilkesboro, Karen Steelman of North Wilkesboro; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Liberty Baptist Church in Moravian Falls officiated by Rev. Jonah Parker with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
