Mrs. Vonda Fay Ashley, age 60 of Ronda, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Ashley was born in Surry County on June 19, 1952 to the late Garvie and Dollie Blevins Waddell.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Randy Waddell.

Mrs. Ashley is survived by her loving husband, Rex Ashley of the home; children, Tina Ashley of Ronda, Angie Gonzalez & husband Daniel of the home; brothers, Andy Waddell of Ronda, Garvie Waddell & wife Tina of Shallotte, NC, sisters, Wanda Blackburn & husband Tim of Ronda, Renda Benge & husband Bobby of Elkin, Sandra Combs of Ronda; grandchildren, Daniel “Bubba” Gonzalez, Skye Ashley, Danny Gonzalez; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at Light House Assembly of God Church by Rev. Shonnie Thompson, Rev. Jody Bewley, and Rev. Jerry Childress. Mrs. Ashley will lie in state from 1:30-2:00p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Ronda City Cemetery. The family will receive friend on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 6:00-8:00p.m.at Johnson Funeral Home.
