Those of us who have been voting Democrat to emulate our grandfathers should seriously reconsider.

No longer the party of John Kennedy and Harry Truman, it has become a breeding ground for Socialists. The Democrats, if given the chance, will lead us to the very kind of dependency which has emasculated Greece and Spain, and bankrupted southern Europe.

In response to Mr. Merlos opinion regarding the current state of the Democratic party, he seems to echo Fox News and the false rhetoric given by the corrupt republican news sources as of late. Unless we salvage the damage and stem the power grab from the previous republican administration and its corporate managers, this country will be doomed to a ruling oligarchy, and not a nation represented by its citizens as envisioned by our founding fathers. Corporate control of our country is real and very threatening. By the way, the present republican party is far from the party of our great President Dwight D.Eisenhower. The GOP has been taken over by radical self-serving extreme idealists and it should be evident to anyone who knows their American history.
